Cooperación internacional para el desarrollo: Los casos de China, Japón y Corea del Sur
Keywords:
Sars-Cov2, ICD, international policySynopsis
The years 2020-2022, affected by the Sars-Cov2 virus pandemic, were a watershed moment for understanding various disciplines and their approaches. International Cooperation for Development (ICD), as a tool of international policy seeking to promote more balanced progress, was questioned in many ways, both as a paradigm and in its traditional practice. However, how can one survive without ICD? The constant threats to development and the ability of states to achieve sustainable development goals and fulfill the objectives of the 2030 Agenda have positioned ICD as an invaluable instrument to contribute to their attainment.
This work proposes the review and analysis of the activities of three donors: China, Japan, and South Korea—each with unique development characteristics and cooperation strategies. It provides an insight into the cooperative practices of these dynamic countries, understanding the context in which they initiated their donor practices and how they have progressed in institutionalizing their principles and strategies. China, Japan, and South Korea are the main actors in the Asia-Pacific region and have allocated significant sums not only to their own region but also to the growing needs of Africa, the Middle East, and Latin America. Those interested in this subject will gain information about the trajectory of these donors and understand how they have contributed to the construction of development models based on their own experiences.
