Synopsis

The topic of renewable energy is fascinating. The different technologies used to generate it are booming and developing. They will displace the current ones both in our country and in the rest of the world; In a few years, oil will no longer be the main energy source, nor will fossil fuels, but rather the energy future lies in the sun, the wind, in all those resources that nature itself so kindly provided us with.

Author Biography

Ana Luz Quintanilla-Montoya, University Of Colima

Was born in Mexico and has been a professor and researcher for over 30 years. She holds a BA in Oceanology and her master’s degree is in Science in Applied Geophysics. She also has a PhD in Science in Coastal Oceanography focused on the study of renewable energies (solar and wind). She belongs to the Ninth Cohort of the Leadership of Environment and Development (LEAD) Program in El Colegio de México, A.C. Her research is focused on the study of Environment and Society as well as Global Climate Change. In 2006, she received the National Award for Renewable energy and Technological Innovation that is annually bestowed by the Secretariat of Energy by way of the National Commission for Energy Saving in the field of Technological Innovation. She is also a passionate advocate for Scientific Dissemination.
