Twenty Sonnets by Sor Juana
Keywords:
Sonetos, poesía, feminismoSynopsis
El rapidín, pa’ leerse como de rayo, it is a collection of very brief texts designed for a young audience. In regards to the selection we present here, we can say that Sor Juana Inés de la Cruz made the sonnet a medium to go beyond courteous love, to the controversial emotions of the feeling of love and touches deep truths of the vanity of being: jealousy, hate, injustice, suicide, feminicide, hopelessness, that which is vain. All these manners of feeling and of living the world have a dialogue, oppose each other, and are repeated in the prismatic reality that the writer was able to represent.
