Synopsis

This orchestral repertoire anthology was elaborated with didactic purposes by professors of the University Institute of Fine Arts (IUBA), members of UCOL-CA-52, for the subjects: Orchestral Repertoire II, Orchestral Repertoire III, which correspond to the Educational Program of the Bachelor’s Degree in Music. The anthology is made up of fragments of the most representative works of the Classic Period that are played most frequently. The extracts with the greatest technical and interpretive complexity have been selected which will help the student develop competencies needed to satisfactorily perform as a member of the section of violincellos in a symphonic orchestra.

For each instrumentalist, working in a chamber orchestra or symphonic orchestra is one of the most important roles to carry out in the sphere of the professional labor spectrum. This educational resource will enable the student to apply the knowledge and abilities acquired in the subject of the instrument: Tuning, Articulation, Rhythm, Agility, Fingering, Arches, Dynamics, and Phrasing. It will develop their ability to solve problems of performance of specific passages in a technical, stylistic, and interpretive manner, as well as its reading at first glance.
