Synopsis

Amid Plants and Souls represents the struggles and historical resistance of Suchitlán, Colima, to preserve its ancestral knowledge. This book is made up of the life stories which dance amid plants and humid earth. The stories that are collected here, are the result of interviews, conversations, and treasured life experiences kept in the hearts of the women who conform it. These sociocultural elements were compiled, analyzed, and handled from a horizontal and communitarian point of view, with a focus on participative research-action. Herbalism is linked to family, history, community pride, struggle, resistance, and survival, aspects that make this book a space for the preservation and dissemination of herbalist knowledge and its influence on the lives of women in the community of Suchitlán.
